Lights Out a major hit single for Bodyjar
Congratulations to Bodyjar releasing their new HIT! Single “Lights Out” this week. Having played a part in the pre production of Bodyjar’s new album Studio Riverview Lodge is extremely excited to see their video debut on Video Hits & Rage in the first week of release. A dark and menacing view of the band playing in a pine forest amongst would be “nutters” a la movie “Wrong Turn” makes for a nasty little trip into the minds of these strange lads. Bodyjar go for gold with this release – we predict this single will be a hit for the band, check it out! www.bodyjar.com.au

Lillian Thoms Masters Album
After a great three months of recording Lillian Thoms headed back to Riverview Lodge last week to master what is set to become a huge album. Titled 'Hit the Ground' Lillian's essential pop/rock occasionally delves into the darker side of country occupied by the likes of Nick Cave.

The album recording includes players such as producer/musician James Black (Deborah Conway, Things of Stone & Wood), Shannon Bourne (Chris Wilson, Kerry Simpson) and widely respected drummer, Venom (Nick Barker).

With an ultra smooth job well done both Jamie and Lillian can't keep the new CD off the player, let's hope it makes it into the hands of many. Until then catch Lillian Thoms live in Melbourne at Boms Lounge.

Studio Riverview Lodge's RME digital recording converters offer better cross talk than the famous Apogee AD-8000 !
*Date [10/10/2003]

On test: Whilst the ADI-8 DS delivered exactly the values RME claim for it in their Technical Information (over 130 dB), the Apogee suffered a surprise defeat in this department.

Instead of the 113 dB listed in the handbook, the best measurement we could get was 95 dB within stereo pairs a clear symptom of crosstalk in the analogue section of the AD converter. Across stereo pairs (i.e. between different stereo pairs) it was 103 dB, but here too it was outmatched by the ADI-8 DS, which delivered 106 dB within, and 115 dB across, stereo pairs.

Bodyjar demo some (future) mega hits!
*Date [1/4/2003]

Starting April with a bang - and a few beers, Producer Richard Stolz along with lead singer/guitarist Cameron Baines dropped in to mix some new 'Jar demos - which sounded rather polished indeed!

Stolz brought in his Apple Mac and Pro Tools TDM rig (including 2 x 888's) and happily settled in for what could only be described as a marathon effort. After a few hours driving the Neve desk Stolz pulled back on the bass boosting stating 'man this thing sounds cool, the bottom end is huge'.

The session was great for all involved and the new sounds and songs written by the band offer a massive future - we can see it now, cool stuff Cam!

For those keen on the new sounds make sure you pick up a copy of 'Jarchives' which includes the tracks '17 Years' & 'Don't sell me out' - demoed here plus vocals recorded here.
